Ingredients

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease and flour a bundt pan or a loaf pan.
  • Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Mix in vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, sift together cake flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with buttermilk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
  • Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 70–80 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
