- 1 cup butter
- 3 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla (adjustable to taste)
- 3 cups cake flour
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease and flour a bundt pan or a loaf pan.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Mix in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, sift together cake flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with buttermilk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 70–80 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- For an extra vanilla kick, add vanilla bean seeds.
- Ensure ingredients are at room temperature for the best texture.
