- 6 slices Rye bread
- 6 slices Provolone Cheese
- 6 slices Cheddar Cheese
- 6 tbsp Butter, softened
- 1 pound Ground beef, lean
- ½ tsp Onion Powder
- ½ tsp Garlic Powder
- ½ tsp Salt
- ½ tsp Pepper
- Secret Sauce:
- ¼ cup Mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp Cooked, crisp bacon, chopped
- 3 tbsp Ketchup
- 1 tsp Sweet Relish
- 1 tsp Sugar, (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the ground beef with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Form into three patties.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness. Remove and set aside.
- Spread butter on one side of each slice of rye bread.
- Place one slice of provolone cheese and one slice of cheddar cheese on the unbuttered side of three bread slices. Top with a beef patty and the secret sauce.
- Top with remaining cheese slices and close with the other slice of bread, butter side out.
- Grill each sandwich in the skillet over medium heat for 3-4 minutes on each side or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a few dashes of hot sauce to the secret sauce.
- Substitute rye bread with sourdough for a different flavor profile.
