Ingredients
Scale
- 3 large eggs
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided (28 g)
- 2 Tbsp butter (28 g)
Instructions
- Separate the Eggs: Carefully separate the egg whites from the yolks, placing the whites in a clean, dry bowl.
- Beat the Egg Whites: Use a whisk or electric mixer to beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- Prepare the Yolks: In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks with salt until smooth.
- Combine and Fold: Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the yolk mixture, ensuring not to deflate the whites.
- Cook the Omelet: Heat the butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Pour the egg mixture into the skillet and spread evenly. Sprinkle half of the cheddar cheese on top.
- Bake and Serve: Cook for 3-4 minutes, then transfer the skillet to a preheated oven (350°F/180°C) and bake for 5 minutes until the omelet is set and golden. Remove from the oven, sprinkle with the remaining cheese, fold, and serve immediately.
Notes
- Ensure the bowl for the egg whites is completely grease-free for maximum volume.
