Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef top sirloin steak
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
  • 1 red onion, cut into 1-inch squares
  • 1 green bell pepper, cut into 1-inch squares
  • 2 tomatoes, cut into wedges

Instructions

  • Slice the beef top sirloin into thin strips.
  • In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, sugar, cornstarch, and ground ginger to form the marinade.
  • Marinate the beef in this sauce for 15-30 minutes.
  • Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
  • Add the beef to the pan and stir-fry until browned (about 3-4 minutes).
  • Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
  • In the same pan, add the remaining oil and stir-fry the onions, bell peppers, and tomatoes until softened (about 3-5 minutes).
  • Return the beef to the pan and toss to coat in the vegetables and sauce.
  • Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add sliced chili peppers.
  • Adjust the soy sauce and sugar to your taste preference.
