- 1 pound beef top sirloin steak
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons white sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
- 1 red onion, cut into 1-inch squares
- 1 green bell pepper, cut into 1-inch squares
- 2 tomatoes, cut into wedges
Instructions
- Slice the beef top sirloin into thin strips.
- In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, sugar, cornstarch, and ground ginger to form the marinade.
- Marinate the beef in this sauce for 15-30 minutes.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
- Add the beef to the pan and stir-fry until browned (about 3-4 minutes).
- Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the remaining oil and stir-fry the onions, bell peppers, and tomatoes until softened (about 3-5 minutes).
- Return the beef to the pan and toss to coat in the vegetables and sauce.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add sliced chili peppers.
- Adjust the soy sauce and sugar to your taste preference.
